Meet Van Gogh’s mother/ Visit Van Gogh Museum
We meet at the Conservatorium Hotel for a coffee.
Vincent’s mother Anna Carbentus (1819-1907) will tell you about her life, the 7 childeren she gave birth to, amongst them Vincent van Gogh, the famous painter and his brother Theo van Gogh, who always supported Vincent.
After this we will visit the Van Gogh Museum Amsterdam.
The Vincent van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam is on every one’s bucket list. The Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam is the owner of the largest collection of Van Gogh paintings.
The Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam opened in 1973 and started as a result of negociations with the Van Gogh family, who were still owners of the collection.
The Van Gogh Museum owns 200 paintings, 500 drawings and 700 letters.
Famous paintings are:
- The potato eaters, his first masterpiece
- The yellow house
- Sunflowers, one of the 13 sunflower paintings
- Sleeping room.
