Van Gogh Europe produced a special promotional movie on the theme 125 years of inspiration.
In the spirit of the theme “125 years of inspiration,” the 21 locations that inspired Vincent during the 37 years that he lived will be commemorated in various parts of Europe. The attached video shows that 30 institutions in The Netherlands, Belgium, France and the United Kingdom work together to present a top-notch product!
Among these institutions are museums as well as the locations where Vincent van Gogh used to live and work, and where he found his inspiration.
The video starts with a Vincent van Gogh quote, in which he tells Anton Kerssemaker what will happen after he dies. Vincent used to work with fellow painter Anton Kerssemaker in Nuenen.
Besides all of the above, the video gives a general overview of the activities that will be organized as part of the “125 years of inspiration” theme, including the following:
- Mons: Europe’s cultural capital in 2015, where Vincent lived in the Borinage. January 24 to May 17, 2015.
- Kröller Müller Museum in Otterloo: exhibition Van Gogh & Co. April 25 to September 27, 2015.
- Noordbrabants Museum in Den Bosch: Daan Roosengaarde. June to August 2015.
- Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam: exhibition Munch. September 15, 2015 to January 17, 2016.
After the information about the various activities, scenes of the Van Gogh House in Zundert, Nuenen, the Opwetten watermill, the Collse watermill and the protestant church in Nuenen are shown, as well as Vincent’s and Theo’s graves in Auvers sur Oise and some views of Arles.
Even after his death Vincent van Gogh continues to inspire many people, in particular expressionist painters in Germany and France.
This gives you an impression of some of the locations, like Zundert and Nuenen, that you can visit as part of “125 years of inspiration!”
